Learning Objectives:

  • Comprehensive picture of day-to-day activity within a leading marketing/sales department in a top-10 market;
  • Participation in a dynamic, creative sales department;
  • Access to - and participation in - business development meetings; and
  • Ground-floor opportunity at leading communications station, with exposure to marketing strategies for interactive, TV, FM and print.

Projects:

Assist the marketing staff with duties that may include any or all of the following:

  • Use of qualitative and quantitative market research for use in marketing materials and direct to client communication for the purpose of promoting WETA;
  • Creation and/or revision of marketing materials to be used by sales representatives;
  • Strategize with sales reps to develop multi-faceted marketing opportunities;
  • Assist WETA National Corporate staff on IPWH, Washington Week and Globe Trekker; working with various departments to fulfill and expand partner/client relationships;
  • Organization of departmental information and databases.

Qualifications:

  • College student or recent college graduate
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Power-point as well as Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Creative personality and highly organized
  • Must have positive personality!
