Learning Objectives:

  • Gain experience in non-profit fundraising and development office.
  • Gain knowledge about major gift cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, marketing and brand management.

Projects:

  • Provide support for the planning and execution of interactive special events and panel discussions for donors of $1,000 and higher.
  • Assisting with mass mailings, setting up special events, generating event timelines, scripts, and speeches, greeting guests and panelists and other logistical responsibilities and assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of college with a preferred major in Communications, Journalism, and Political Science
  • Comfortable interacting with high-profile guests and panelists.
  • Strong knowledge of public affairs, current events, and mass media.
  • Ability to conduct online research.
  • Strong understanding and application of computer technology to efficiently accomplish work, using Microsoft Office programs, email, Internet, database management software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work independently within fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
