Manager, Online Fundraising

Develop, manage, and grow online fundraising and engagement program by executing effective strategies and techniques via digital communication channels.  Collaborate with Digital Media department on all web and social network fundraising intitatives.  Report to Senior Director, Direct Response Fundraising.

Responsibilities

Manage online fundraising and engagement activities including direct response fundraising, on-air fundraising and outreach teams.

  • Manage all activities related to online cultivation/stewardship engagement and direct solicitations. 
  • Manage email list growth, including acquisition strategies such as email appends, along with other online engagement opportunities.
  • Write outstanding email, landing page and other digital copy to produce desired fundraising and engagement results.
  • Coordinate with other members of the Development department to ensure online activity is managed in coordination with offline fundraising activities, specifically on-air pledge and direct mail/telemarketing solicitations.
  • Manage comprehensive online testing and performance tracking systems for all online fundraising and engagement activities.  
  • Responsible for development and management of emails, pages, tools and graphics for online fundraising activities, including forms, e-commerce store and event management in Luminate Online (formerly called Convio).
  • Manage online communications calendar and oversee copy development for fundraising activities.

Liaison with Digital Media department on management of fundraising tools on website and social media engagement, and serves as digital content manager for Development department.

Liaison with Development Operations department on data management and operational execution of daily sync with ROI Net Solutions database.

Liaison with Luminate Online to manage execution of online best practices for online management software.

Stay abreast of industry best-practices, within public media, among nonprofits more broadly and in commercial sector.

Performs other duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Qualificiations

Knowledge of and proven ability to manage direct response fundraising program efforts, with strong understanding of email and online marketing.

Knowledge of and proven ability to develop and implement online fundraising strategies.

Strong writing skills to achieve fundraising and cultivation goals.

Experience with building and maintaining donation forms, surveys and other user engagement features, and running reports/interpreting audience analytics.Familiarity with the Luminate Online API not required, but highly desirable.

Excellent organizational, project planning, presentation and time management skills with careful attention to detail needed.

Demonstrated ability to generate and interpret digital tracking and analytic reports.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to interact with a wide variety of people using diplomacy, tact and discretion

Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Demonstrated ability to successfully perform in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.

Demonstrated understanding and application of computer technology to efficiently accomplish work, using Microsoft Office programs, email, Internet, and database management software.  Familiarity with Photoshop, basic design skills and basic HTML coding. 

Education

College degree in related field, along with demonstrated effort of continuing fundraising education.

Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in direct response fundraising

Experience should include online revenue generation and online management.
