Internships

WETA offers a wide variety of internship opportunities designed to provide students and recent graduates with knowledge of and practical work experience in the field of public broadcasting.

WETA internships are available in many different facets of the station: administration, educational outreach, fundraising, marketing, online services, television productions, program development, public information and radio. Selections are based on matching students' interests with available assignments.

To be eligible, an intern applicant must be currently enrolled in a college or university as an undergraduate or graduate student, or have graduated within 12 months from the beginning of the internship.

Internships typically last 8-10 weeks and are offered throughout the year. Most interns work 15-20 hours a week during the school year and 20-40 hours a week during the summer. Interns may receive academic credit for their internship if approved and arranged by the intern's educational institution.

The internship program is not an employment program and offers no compensation. WETA may assist interns with transportation expenses, if funds are available. Students are responsible for making their own housing arrangements.
