The Ying Quartet
Presented by the Barns at Wolf Trap
Monday, June 6, 2016 - 9:00pm
The Ying Quartet first came to professional prominence in the early 1990s during their years as resident quartet of Jesup, Iowa, a farm town of 2,000 people. Playing before audiences of 6 to 600 in homes, schools, churches, and banks, the Quartet had its first opportunity to enable music to become an integral part of community life. Now, they are quartet-in-residence at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where the members teach in the string department and lead a rigorous chamber music program.
