The next concert by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra includes the world premiere of a tribute to the Potomac River and the city of Alexandria titled River Poem, by music director Kim Allen Kluge and his wife, Kathryn Vassar Kluge. Maestro Kluge stopped by the Classical WETA studios to chat with Marilyn Cooley about the new piece, which was commissioned by Virginia Bronze, and is scored for full orchestra, double choir, and handbell ensemble.
