Lang Lang

“Lang Lang is a rock star,” writes The Wall Street Journal.  “His enthusiasm and passion are what captivates his audience.” The celebrated pianist breezes into town for a residency with the National Symphony Orchestra, November 4th to 10th.  During the residency, Lang Lang will perform six concerts in seven days…a solo recital, a duo recital with his mentor and friend, Christoph Eschenbach, 3 different Beethoven Piano Concertos with the NSO, plus his trademark “101 Pianists,” where he shares the Kennedy Center Concert Hall stage with 100 gifted young musicians from the DC area.  In this conversation with Classical WETA’s Nicole Lacroix, Lang Lang shares his passion for working with young people, his excitement at his new Chopin Album just released by SONY Classical, and his delight in performing with Maestro Eschenbach.  He also reveals his favorite pre-concert food and his “comfort composers.”
