In a program recorded live at the Austrian Embassy on October 1, 2009, cellist Friedrich Kleinhapl teams up with pianist Andreas Woyke to play Beethoven's first three Sonatas for Cello and Piano. Mr. Kleinhapl also performs the solo Cadenza from Friedrich Gulda's Concerto for Cello and Monologi for Cello Solo by Norwegian composer Oistein Sommerfeldt. Kleinhapl plays a magnificient instrument--the 1743 Guadagnini cello, "ex von Zweygberg," on loan from the Austrian National Bank's instrument collection.
