Paris in the 20s
The American Chamber Players
Sara Stern, flute
Joanna Maurer, violin
Miles Hoffman, viola
Alberto Parrini, cello
Anna Stoytcheva, piano
Much has been written about Paris between the two world wars, and particularly about the unprecedented and--still to this day--unique atmosphere found there in the 1920's. The sheer number of artists, writers, musicians, and dancers who came from different parts of the world to fill the City of Light would partially account for the unparalleled creative enterprises of the day. The inspiration for this program comes from Hemingway's A Moveable Feast, a posthumously published account of the author's experiences in 1920's Paris.
