Together since 1995, and regular guests on WGBH-FM, the Triple Helix have premiered and recorded works by many contemporary composers. The three trios in this concert share connections of theme and inspiration, with the Babadjanian trio echoing the 2nd movement of the Shostakovich, and composer John Harbison incorporating elements of both trios in his work, Abu Ghraib.
Arno Babadjanian: Piano Trio (1953)
John Harbison: Abu Ghraib (2006)
Dmitri Shostakovich: Trio No. 2 in E minor, Op. 67 (1944)
