 Rossini was another composer so prolific that even his more obscure operas are a gold mine of spectacular arias and thrilling ensembles. At first, this one was lightly regarded because it contains a few "recycled" tunes. But Rossini inevitably borrowed from himself, and it's hard to imagine a more fruitful source of musical material.
