Concerts at the Corcoran Gallery of Art

Classical WETA’s local concert series features a performance by the American Chamber Players recorded live in concert at the Corcoran Gallery of Art on November 2, 2007.

Formed in 1985 by violist Miles Hoffman, the American Chamber Players’ repertoire includes familiar masterpieces as well as neglected gems and newly commissioned American works. They have toured throughout North America, and are the resident ensemble of the June Chamber Festival at the Kreeger Museum, in Washington, DC. They record on the Koch International Classics label.

Featured performances: The American Chamber Orchestra's debut on Front Row Washington includes one of Haydn’s “London” trios, a Concertino for flute, viola and piano by Ernest Bloch, piano quartets by both Mahler and Brahms, and the Duo for flute and violin by Ginastera.
