2007 Reading Rainbow Contest Winners

The WETA Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest is a competition for children in kindergarten through third grade. Children from the Washington area write and illustrate original stories and submit them to WETA for entry in the contest.

This year, children from Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia shared their original stories and illustrations. From these wonderful and creative stories, judges chose three finalists from each grade.

Congratulations to all who participated in the contest! Every child received a certificate of achievement signed by Reading Rainbow host LeVar Burton. The first place winners in each grade also received a variety of prizes and advanced to the national competition.
