Origins Concert Series: Hub for Adventurous Music Seekers
Season Premiere Concert Combines Original and New Music with Favorite Classics
The Origins Concert Series presents Carrie Rose, flute; Wes Nichols, oboe; Cheryl Hill, clarinet; and Maude Fish, bassoon. The centerpiece of the program will be Elliott Carter’s Eight Etudes and a Fantasy. The program will also include Trois Pieces pour une Musique de Nuit by Eugene Bozza; Inside Out (world premiere) by Carrie Rose; Trio Sonata in F Opus 2 Nr. 4 by George Frideric Handel; and Duo for flute and oboe by Alberto Ginastera.
The series is produced by Takoma Park resident, Carrie Rose, who has a special interest in new music, and relishes exposing people to new experiences. At a previous concert of new music that she performed, an audience member remarked, "During the first piece I wondered if I could sit through an entire concert of this music. By the second piece I wondered if I could ever listen to a normal concert again."
Event begins at 8:00PM
