“Color Chronicles” is a mini retrospective of mixed media paintings by J. Jordan Bruns and his battle with Cushing’s Disease; from diagnosis to recovery. The paintings, created between 2007 and the present, create a timeline where visitors will be able to visually trace the physical and mental journey through the transitions of color, mood, and arrangement of the subject matter in work.
Drawing on his own personal experience, Jordan’s paintings are about destruction and rebirth. “I had Cushing’s Disease for over nine years,” explains Jordan. “The tumor on my pituitary gland (removed at the NIH) caused so many problems; affecting my mood, memory, and physical appearance. The turmoil that the disease was causing is evident in my early paintings. Once the tumor was removed, my paintings developed into brighter, saturated color.”
Event begins at 12:00PM
