International German artists Rahel and Sara Rilling, daughters of world-renowned conductor Helmuth Rilling, join the New Orchestra of Washington (NOW) in presenting "Music: Soul to the Universe," a concert of contrasts and dualities. The program begins by pairing Mozart’s sublime “Sinfonia Concertante” for violin, viola and orchestra with the World Premier of brilliant Venezuelan composer Andrés Levell’s work for the same instrumentation. Levells’s "Peregrinatio Serpens" is the product of a 2012 NOW commission and is dedicated to the Riling sisters. The program concludes with two seductive and evocative works by the eminent Mexican composer Arturo Marquez, who will be featured as guest conductor. This concert is made possible by the New Orchestra of Washington, the German Embassy, and the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the Organization of American States.
