The Occasional Symphony will open its 2013-2014 season with a costumed accompaniment of John Robertson’s 1920 silent horror film, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on Thursday, October 31 at 9p.m. at the 2640 Space in Charles Village. This year’s Halloween show rivals the sold-out inauguration of the 2012-2013 season, which accompanied The Cabinet of Dr.Caligari. The 2640 Space, an old church converted into an offbeat concert venue, creates the ideal atmosphere for the event. As concertgoers enjoy the film, the festively costumed 50-member orchestra will premiere music specially written for the performance. Featured composers will include many such as Berlioz, Wagner, and Baltimoreans Joshua Bornfield, Viet Cuong and James Young. Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, October 1 at $12 for general admission. They can be purchased via the Occasional Symphony website – www.occasionalsymphony.org - or at the door on the night of the performance. Costumes welcome!
Event begins at 9:00PM
