Former New York Times foreign correspondent and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges speaks as part of the third annual Zepp lecture at McDaniel College. Hedges spent nearly two decades as a foreign correspondent in Central America, the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans, reporting for more than 50 countries for The Christian Science Monitor, National Public Radio, The Dallas Morning News, and The New York Times. In 2002, he was part of the team of reporters at The New York Times awarded a Pulitzer Prize for the paper’s coverage of global terrorism. He also received the Amnesty International Globe Award for Human Rights Journalism in 2002. Hedges is a weekly columnist for Truthdig and author of 12 books, including “Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt,” a collaboration with comic artist Joe Sacco, which was published in 2012.
