Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl champion Brendon Ayanbadejo set a precedent as the first professional athlete to publicly support marriage equality, and shares how he went from playing professional football to spreading the word of equality throughout the country.

Brendon Ayanbadejo, former Baltimore Ravens linebacker and member of the 2013 Super Bowl champion team, is a a vocal supporter of equal rights and an advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights and same-sex marriage.
His passion for LGBT rights stems from growing up as the son of an Irish-American mother and a Nigerian father. He sees the fight to legalize same-sex marriage as the 21st century version of the fight for racial equality.
A three-time NFL Pro-Bowler, he played 13 seasons of professional football for the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens. He graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in history and earned a MBA from George Washington University. Visit www.brendonayanbadejo.net for more information.
