The 8th annual Northern Virginia Jewish Book Festival (NVJBF) screens the film Betrayed as part of a program about military service. Fifty-eight years ago Meir Moses was one of an elite group of Israeli soldiers that fell captive in Syria while on a covert military operation. Circumstances led to his court-martial for treason. Meir yearns for redemption. His story reverberates loudly in a society that still battles with the same dilemmas today. Film: Documentary, 50 minutes, Israel, 2012, Hebrew with English subtitles. Followed by a panel discussion with local authors Joseph Gelman (Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon-Arnon Milchan) and Adam Harmon (Lonely Soldier: Memoir of an American in the Israeli Army), and a guest from The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. NVJBF runs November 2-13, with ten authors visiting from Israel and across the USA.
Event begins at 4:00PM
