Horton’s Kids, a local nonprofit benefiting the children of D.C.’s Ward 8, will play host to one of the most anticipated fundraisers of the season, “Give Thanks and Give Back,” on Wednesday, November 6th, 2013 from 6:30pm to 10:30pm at House of Sweden in Georgetown.
As part of an ongoing series of events celebrating its 25-year anniversary, Horton’s Kids looks forward to bringing together D.C.’s most charitable advocates, government relations professionals, and socialites. With a goal of raising $100,000 in donations, this year’s theme is “1989” (the year of the organization’s founding) throwback and will feature 1980’s cover band, Dr. Fu.
Jake Tapper, host of CNN’s The Lead and a former Horton’s Kids’ volunteer, will deliver remarks while distinguished guests of the evening enjoy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and dessert. Guests will also hear from a Horton’s Kids alumnus who will talk about how the programs helped him on his path from his Ward 8 neighborhood to becoming an honor roll senior at Syracuse University.
Guests are requested to wear cocktail attire.
Event begins at 6:30PM
