Francisco Fierro, 23, was nominated for the 2012 and 2013 Prince of Girona Prize for the Arts, the most important award for a young musician in Spain. Mr. Fierro has performed throughout Europe, the United States and soon he will be touring in Latin America.
Born in Madrid, Mr. Fierro did not begin his musical education until the age of 12. His first piano teacher was D. Juan Crespo. He went on to study at the Padre Antonio Soler Conservatory in San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
In 2008, at age of 17, Mr. Fierro made his orchestra debut at the Auditorio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Under the baton of Giuseppe Mancini, Mr. Fierro played The Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. That same year he entered the High Conservatory of Salamanca.
Mr. Fierro is devoted to composition and improvisation, for which he is well known and respected. At every concert he performs, he plays some new work.
He is currently the President of the Young European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA) in Spain, the most important Association for pianists and piano teachers in Europe. He also frequently performs in concerts and musical events to benefit charity.
