Call for Songwriters - 2016 Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards

The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District announces the second annual Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards. The competition is seeking the best, up-and-coming, songwriters from Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. 

Bold and Beautiful: Rinpa in Japanese Art

This exhibition features 37 works by Rinpa artists and those inspired by Rinpa design, and is complemented by a gallery of tea ceramics influenced by Sōtatsu’s collaborator Hon’ami Koetsu.

Shakespeare's the Thing

Folger Shakespeare Library

Explore Shakespeare’s influence on visual art, performance, and scholarship through treasures from the Folger collection hand-picked by Folger staff, including a special look at how fans have celebrated Shakespeare from his time to ours. Marking Shakespare's 450th birthday.

The Folger Shakespeare Library is open to the public 10am to 5pm Monday through Saturday, with special exhibition viewing hours on Sundays from 12pm to 5pm. Free, docent-led tours are available Monday through Friday at 11am and 3pm, Saturdays at 11am and 1pm, and Sundays at 1pm.
