Irving Penn (1917–2009), known for his iconic fashion, portrait, and still life images which appeared in Vogue, ranks as one of the foremost photographers of the twentieth century. "Irving Penn: Beyond Beauty," celebrates his legacy as a modern master and demonstrates the photographer’s continued influence on the medium.

Shakespeare's the Thing

Folger Shakespeare Library

Explore Shakespeare’s influence on visual art, performance, and scholarship through treasures from the Folger collection hand-picked by Folger staff, including a special look at how fans have celebrated Shakespeare from his time to ours. Marking Shakespare's 450th birthday.

The Folger Shakespeare Library is open to the public 10am to 5pm Monday through Saturday, with special exhibition viewing hours on Sundays from 12pm to 5pm. Free, docent-led tours are available Monday through Friday at 11am and 3pm, Saturdays at 11am and 1pm, and Sundays at 1pm.
