Washington Area Parks

The National Capital region boasts one of the highest concentrations of national parks of any area in the country, with over 8,500 acres of parkland within the District of Columbia and 80,000 acres in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.

These special places include natural parks, historic sites, and arts venues, serving more than 40 million visitors annually. Learn more about our parks below.
