...for helping my daughter succeed.

When my daughter was in fourth grade, her teachers noticed that she struggled to read. After visiting WETA’s Reading Rockets website, I realized my daughter indeed had a learning disability. I called WETA in a panic and they sent me materials to support the information I found at readingrockets.org. Now, three years later, my daughter is reading at her grade level. WETA is my source for helping my daughter succeed.

...for support and hope from other brain injury survivors

While asleep at the age of 11, my son suffered a brain injury. A lively, social, athletic boy was suddenly unable to move, talk or eat. We were unprepared, scared and overwhelmed. That’s why we were thrilled to find WETA’s BrainLine.org. Through the website we find the best information about brain injury, research, and rehabilitation. Every day WETA is my source for support and hope from other brain injury survivors and their families.

...for what I need most, hope

I am a brain injury survivor who is fighting for his life. My brain injury left me with spastic quadriplegia and speech disabilities. It also left me legally blind. Although I can no longer play sports and I face great isolation, I am still an "A" student and my life is as important to me now as it was before the brain injury. WETA’s BrainLine.org helps me stay positive and find laughter in life. WETA is my source for staying connected, finding up to date information on research and rehabilitation and for what I need most, hope.

— Taylor W., Ashburn, VA

...for credible and reliable information about learning disabilities.

I first learned about WETA’s LDOnline.org through my work in education PR and advocacy, but when my own son was diagnosed with ADHD and learning disabilities, I personally realized the true value of the web site. WETA is my source for credible and reliable information about learning disabilities.

...for English language learner resources.

I love WETA’s ColorinColorado.org and shared its wealth of information about working with children for whom English is a second language with classmates this past summer. I especially love the ability to print a resource for a parent in their native language that shows how they can help their child, even if they don’t speak English themselves. WETA is my source for English language learner resources.

...for staff development on much needed topics

As a High School ESL teacher in New York, WETA’s ColorinColorado.org has been extremely valuable for information about working with children for whom English is a second language. The web site is research-based, ongoing and is extremely valuable in the realm of professional development. Teachers are involved in the discussion, not simply observers. WETA is my source for staff development on much needed topics relating to different aspects of teaching English language learners.

...to help my son grow to be all that he can be.

I have a son with a learning disability. WETA’s LDOnLine.org has been a great resource to learn more about how to help both my child and me. WETA is my source for information to help my son grow to be all that he can be.

— Jami S., Clarksburg, MD

for hope from people who share the same challenges I once did.

I am a traumatic brain injury survivor, and I am thankful for WETA’s BrainLine.org. A great feature of the website is the video testimonials of others who have suffered traumatic brain injuries and want to share their experiences. WETA is my source for hope from people who share the same challenges I once did.
