October 18, 2009
On October 18, Classical WETA supported the Cathedral Choral Society’s presentation of Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem, under the direction of Music Director J. Reilly Lewis, at Washington National Cathedral. A Classical WETA host introduced the concert and a promotions team distributed giveaways and station information.

On October 3, Classical WETA helped celebrate National Philharmonic’s 2009-2010 season opener titled Beethoven One, Two, Three. As media partner, Classical WETA afternoon host John Chester introduced the concert and a Classical WETA promotions team distributed giveaways and station information.

WETA supported Signature Theatre's 2009-2010 kickoff event known as the Target Open House. This free event was an exciting way for Signature Theatre along with the Shirlington commuity to reach out to local people in the area. WETA distributed giveaways and provided station information

Classical WETA 90.9 FM listeners and WETA members were invited to a free concert presented by the National Symphony Orchestra in partnership with Classical WETA in the Concert Hall of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. National Symphony Orchestra Associate Conductor Emil de Cou took the podium for the performance, which was broadcast live on Classical WETA 90.9 FM.

On June 20, Classical WETA hosted an evening at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center featuring “Breakthrough” by the National Orchestral Institute.

The Classical WETA Players, a brass quintet of professional musicians, performed on the main stage at the 16th Annual Frederick Festival of the Arts in downtown Frederick. Classical WETA was on site with giveaways and station information.

On Sunday, May 31, two historic markers were unveiled that honor the lifetime achievements of Elizabeth and Edmund Campbell, distinguished Arlingtonians who devoted their lives to education and justice. The event took place on the plaza in front of the Shirlington Library and Signature Theatre.
