Volunteers play a vital role in the successful operation of WETA. Whether you are answering phones during our pledge campaigns, stuffing envelopes, or assisting the staff with special events, volunteers help bring quality programming to the Washington Metropolitan Area. When you become a WETA Volunteer, you support local public broadcasting, meet like minded individuals and have some community spirited fun.
Individual volunteers are needed to answer phones during our pledge campaigns and to perform administrative/clerical tasks in support of the staff. Volunteers are also needed to assist the staff during special events after regular business hours and on weekends. Please note: WETA has no in-studio volunteer opportunities available.

The minimum age to volunteer is 16. Community service hours can be earned.
Groups and organizations are welcome to answer phones during pledge campaigns. It's a fun way for businesses, service clubs, or just about any organized group to get together to serve our community. Email us or call 703-998-2762.
Do you have a restaurant or catering company? If so, feed the volunteers! Donate foods and beverages for meals or snacks and get on-air and online recognition! WETA is exempt under IRS 501(c)(3) so you will also receive a receipt.
