VOLUNTEER

Opportunities for Volunteers include:

TV 26 Telephone Volunteers – Groups

See what it's like behind the scenes at a TV studio. Groups of approximately 35 people are needed to appear live on-air answering incoming pledge calls during our March, August and December membership campaigns. It's a fun way for a business, service organization, club or community group to get together, gain a bit of publicity and help out a good cause. Participating groups will be recognized on-air during the drive and in WETA's volunteer newsletter.

Time commitment: Generally one 3 to 5 hour-long shift, mostly evening hours, some weekend afternoons available.

When: March, August, December

Minimum age: 16

TV 26 Telephone Volunteers – Individuals

WETA is assisted by a small number of individual volunteers during each television drive. We could use your help tallying pledges, helping with hospitality or answering pledge calls during our on-air efforts.

Time commitment: Generally one 3 to 5 hour long shift, mostly evening hours, some weekend afternoons available.

When: March, August, December

Minimum age: 16

Administrative and Special Event Volunteers

In addition to the hundreds of committed volunteers who help with TV and radio fund drives, we need volunteers to serve as adjunct staff members, assisting with online and educational activities, answering phones, helping with guest check-ins at WETA-hosted events and more. The jobs are varied and involving but a specially tailored system of screening, placement and training helps to ensure skills and interests are matched with the tasks at hand.

Time commitment: Flexible

Minimum age: 16

Food Donations

Meals (lunch or dinner), sodas, coffee and snacks are regularly provided to volunteers during 90.9 FM and TV 26 fundraising efforts and donations are always welcome. For their support, companies and restaurants not only receive on-air credit, but also a special thanks in Signals, WETA's volunteer newsletter.

WETA has no programming or technical volunteer opportunities available at this time.
