Nelson Pressley has been covering theater in the Greater Washington area for more than a decade and has served as the chief drama critic of both The Washington Post and The Washington Times.
His reviews and features have appeared in American Theatre, Irish Theatre, The Sondheim Review and Stagebill. He is a regular contributor to The Washington Post.
Pressley has been heard on radio from Los Angeles to Dublin and throughout the Greater Washington area. From 1996 to 1998 he was a judge for the Helen Hayes Awards. His appearances on "Around Town" date back to 1998.
Pressley holds a bachelor's degree in English, with a concentration in film studies, from the University of Delaware, and a master's degree in theater history and criticism from the Catholic University of America. He teaches a course in criticism at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
