Film - Iron Jawed Angels

In celebration of Women’s History Month and the 100th anniversary of the 1913 Suffrage Parade in Washington, DC, we will present a screening and discussion the 2004 film Iron Jawed Angels (125 min.), which tells the remarkable and little-known story of a group of young women, led by Alice Paul (Hilary Swank) and her friend Lucy Burns (Frances O'Connor), who put their lives on the line to fight for American women's right to vote. Presented in partnership with the Sewall-Belmont House & Museum. Please note: some scenes may be too intense for younger viewers.
