Dalcroze Eurhythmics for Dance with Monica Dale

It’s fun. It’s challenging. And it will change the way you think about music and dance.

Come enjoy a workshop in Dalcroze Eurhythmics for Dance.

Music can do so much more than simply accompany dance. Through the Dalcroze work, music
can help dancers develop important abilities in dance -- technique, choreography, and teaching.

Connecting movement with sound brings new awareness dance’s own “kinesthetic music,”
occurring even in silence. The most basic Eurhythmics exercises can transform your experience
of a ballet barre or familiar modern vocabulary.

Dalcroze Eurhythmics had a profound impact on the development of modern dance. Doris
Humphrey, Mary Wigman, Kurt Jooss, Rudolph von Laban, Hanya Holm and many
others studied the Dalcroze work. Experiencing Eurhythmics today sheds light on familiar
characteristics of their work.

Whether you’re new to dance or a seasoned professional, this workshop will make you laugh,
listen, and think in new ways.
