The National Museum of Health and Medicine has installed the temporary exhibition "WHACK'ed... and then everything was different," a series of larger-than-life portraits by New York-based artist Eliette Markhbein that honors survivors of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) who became role models for their peers. Her subjects include former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, professional athlete Troy Aikman, famed actor George Clooney, news correspondent Bob Woodruff and service member Claudia Carreon, who was injured in Iraq.
