Summer Art Party on the Quad, June 22, 2013

Join us at the Workhouse Arts Center, Lorton, VA for our Summer Art Party on the Quad celebrating community and the arts, this event invites our neighbors and the community at large to learn about, engage in, soak up, talk about, be inspired by, see, hear and feel art, artists and arts education programs.

Start the day at 9:30am with a fitness walk led by Art of Movement program director Lesley Spalding, then stay for fun, art, music and community. The event is FREE, though we ask that you to bring nonperishable food items for the Lorton Community Action Agency (LCAC), our featured partner for this community event.

Activities for all ages begin on the Quad at 11:00am and include: Kite making and flying workshops, Rain stick making workshop, Hula hoop contests, Herb talk and sale, Art and History Scavenger Hunts

A “history corner” featuring exhibits, period dress and activities from Historic Manassas, Mill House Museum in Occoquan, Turning Point Suffragist Memorial, Workhouse Prison Museum and Historic Pohick Church.

Urban Decay 4 exhibition in the W-16 McGuireWoods Gallery

360 Degrees of Post-Traumatic Stress exhibition in the W-16 Vulcan Gallery.
