WETA

WETA serves local and national public media audiences by producing and distributing content of intellectual integrity and cultural merit. Through broadcast, digital and community services, we offer compelling, diverse programming on five television channels, including primary channel WETA PBS and WETA Classical music.  We create impactful documentaries with national and global impact and provide education and engagement initiatives that contribute to the company’s mission of public service.

NewsHour Productions

PBS NewsHour provides viewers with balanced reporting and insightful analysis across broadcast, digital and social platforms. The leading, trusted source of news and analysis among national media, NewsHour continues to be recognized for its world-class journalism.  Washington Week delivers informative, reporter driven conversations about urgent contemporary issues and top stories spotlighting national news and politics.

WHAT WE OFFER

WETA and NewsHour Productions offer exciting career opportunities including experienced professional, early career, internship, and fellowship positions.

Experienced Professional

Positions at all levels in local and national programming, production, news and business operations are foundational to our success. 

Early Career

Entry-level positions designed for recent college graduates.  These one-year, full-time positions provide practical experience in public broadcast and digital news with PBS NewsHour or multi-media broadcast and operations with WETA.  Early career positions are generally from June – May annually. 

Internships

Internships designed for current college students.  Internships provide students with educational and practical experience in public broadcasting.  Interns will have department job responsibilities and participate in corporate development opportunities and leadership networking.  Internships are generally aligned with Fall and Spring college semesters with an additional Summer internship program. 

Fellowships

Several fellowship opportunities in honor of the late Gwen Ifill who served as Moderator and Managing Editor of Washington Week and co-anchor of the PBS NewsHour are available.  The fellowships are designed to support the journalist ambitions of college students and recent college graduates.
