Approximately 200 full and part-time employees work in WETA's offices in Arlington, Virginia to produce and broadcast compelling programs for WETA Television; to operate Classical WETA 90.9 FM, the only classical music radio station in the Washington area; and to serve our community with education and outreach initiatives that contribute to our mission.

Recruiting & HR Manager, WETA

The Recruiting & HR Manager is a skilled recruiter who delivers talent acquisition results and serves as a partner, consultant, and administrator on HR matters to management and employees in the assigned client groups of approximately 160 staff of WETA.  In addition, the Manager partners with HR peer and the VP of HR to assess and deliver learning and development programs.  The Manager is passionate, innovative, and an expert in sourcing and marketing jobs and creatively adapts to a changing job market and media landscape.


The Manager assists the client group at the tactical, transactional, and strategic levels, and directly handles responsibilities in the following functional areas in close coordination with the VPHR and HR colleagues:  recruiting and ATS use, learning and organizational development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, diversity, HRIS/HR records.


The successful Manager works as a partner and change agent and continuously assesses and anticipates client needs. The Manager works proactively with the VP of HR and develops innovative, creative, and value-added talent solutions.  The Manager maintains an effective level of business literacy about the assigned business units’ plans and goals, talent marketplace, culture, and competition.
