WETA relies on the generous support of people like you who share a personal appreciation of public broadcasting. Volunteering not only benefits us here at WETA but also gives you the opportunity to see first-hand how a television and radio station operates.
Join the more than 2,5000 Washingtonians who donate their time to support WETA’s pledge drives and community events. Thank you for helping us with a gift of your time!

The following volunteer opportunities are available. For more information, please call our volunteer line at 703-998-2762 or tell us about yourself by filling out the form on the right.
Groups of approximately 35 people are needed to appear live on-air to answer incoming pledge calls during our TV pledge drives in March, August and December. It's a fun way for a business, service organization, club or community group to get together, gain a bit of publicity and help out a good cause.
The time commitment is usually one 3-5 hour shift, most often in the evenings with some weekend afternoons also available. Participating groups will be recognized on-air.
If you enjoy the excitement of pledge drives as we raise funds for WETA, we could use your help tallying pledges, helping with hospitality, ro answering pledge calls.
We also have opportunities for volunteers to serve alongside our staff, assisting with online and educational activities, answering phones, helping with guest check-ins at WETA-hosted events and more.
Meals (lunch or dinner), sodas, coffee and snacks are regularly provided to volunteers during pledge drives, and donations are always welcome. Companies and restaurants that offer such support receive our thanks and on-air credit.
